Several of this year’s Tour de France participants have shown to the world that acupuncture can help with sports injuries. One example is super star cyclist Alberto Contador who is using acupuncture to help him with his knee pain during the race. He injured his knee early in the race and has been using acupuncture to combat the pain and inflammation.
Another great example of a, now retired, bike racer who has used acupuncture is Tyler Hamilton. He also used acupuncture during the 2004 Tour for an injured back and shoulder.
Acupuncture has shown example, after example, of its positive effects on sports injuries.
Whether you are a bike racer or just a weekend golfer, hiker, or even a weekend summer gardener — when you get injured doing a sport, or other activity that you love, consider acupuncture and Chinese Traditional Medicine to help. Obviously if you break bones you will need to go to a hospital and get them looked at and put into a cast. But aside from broken bones, many sports injuries, muscle strains, inflammation and other aches and pains can see a lot of improvement when acupuncture is used to treat the issue.
