Acupuncture use is on the rise. More than 14 million US citizens use, or have tried, Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine as a solution to their health needs. Are you among these people? This number is a significant jump from a prior 2002 survey that showed only 8.19 million people in the US had been using Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The investigators predict a continuation of the upward trend for more patients to use Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. The survey showed that Acupuncture patients used Acupuncture  “as a complementary and alternative approach to conventional treatment for a specific health conditions, and also used Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine as a preventive means to promote general health.”

The new report suggests that with some carriers there is insurance coverage for Acupuncture services, increased awareness of the benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine, along with the lower cost of Acupuncture care, when compared with other modalities that may be contributing to the popularity and growth of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine use in the USA.
