Morning sickness can be a problem for many pregnant women. A new study reports that Acupuncture has been found to be quite helpful in calming the nervous symptoms and relieving the uncomfortableness. The tiny needles help to balance hormones, help the liver to process them more efficiently, and reduce stress and fatigue – all of which are triggers for morning sickness.
Plus, pregnancy hormones affect the nervous system, which means the brain-gut relationship is in full force. Using Acupuncture works to help deal with that also.
There were some other natural approaches to help with morning sickness that the new report also suggested.
Ginger was suggested in the form of ginger root tea, ginger beer (non alcoholic), lozenges, gum or capsules.
Aromatherapy was another holistic suggestion for morning sickness. The scents of peppermint, spearmint, ginger, and lavender were suggested as working best. Also inhaling the aroma of a freshly cut lemon can be effective for relieving nausea. If you opt for essential oils, be sure to speak with an aromatherapy expert, because some can be unsafe to use, particularly when applied to the skin.
